Frequently asked questions
Answers on account types, costs, and Spread Discount at IC Markets.
How do Raw Spread and cTrader Raw differ besides the platform?
Both have spreads from 0.0 pips. Raw Spread runs on MT4 and MT5 with a 7 USD commission per lot, suited to high volume and MetaTrader EAs. cTrader Raw has a 6 USD commission per lot, with Level II pricing and cBots for algo trading. The Standard account (from 1.0 pip, no commission) is for day-to-day trading.
Does Spread Discount apply to the Standard account too?
Yes, on all three account types: Standard, Raw Spread, and cTrader Raw. Spread Discount is a per-position cost discount built into TradeHub's IB setup and credited to your IC Markets balance. It applies to winning and losing positions, with no forms and no minimum volume.
Why is the minimum deposit 200 USD?
IC Markets targets active traders, scalpers, and robot users who usually trade with larger capital, so its minimum deposit is 200 USD. IC Markets charges no deposit fee. If you want to start smaller, other TradeHub brokers have minimum deposits under 20 USD.
Are EAs and scalping allowed, and do I need a VPS?
Yes, on every account type, with no minimum holding time. Because IC Markets' servers are in Equinix NY4, a VPS close to those servers helps cut latency for EAs. What is prohibited is latency arbitrage: IC Markets' systems detect it and cancel the profits.
How do I make sure my account is under TradeHub's IB?
Register through the TradeHub link, then complete KYC with an ID card, driving licence, or passport plus proof of address from the last 3 months. IC Markets usually approves accounts within 1 business day. Then send your trading account number on WhatsApp and we will confirm Spread Discount is active. Already have an account? Use the Switch IB route.
Who regulates IC Markets, and how long do withdrawals take?
ASIC (AFSL 335692) for Australian clients, CySEC for EU clients, and the FSA Seychelles for international clients. According to IC Markets, client funds are held in segregated trust accounts at National Australia Bank and Westpac, and most withdrawals are processed within 1-2 business hours. Deposits and withdrawals must be in your own name.
